Hey there, I am looking for some info on an obscure single shot shotgun, a Model “37TR”. Ive barely found anything about it online other than the fact that it exists. From what I have seen they were an old cooey production version of the 37A, with an engraving of a rhino on either side of the frame. I have seen online that there are rumours about it being made specifically to be sold out of canada for the thailand market during some kind of gun trade embargo the US sanctioned but nothing I can find is confirmed or denied. I also read that the coast guard allegedly used them during WW2. I figured if anyone would really know it would be you guys, I contacted winchester customer support but they knew nothing about it and refered me here to you guys. Id love any info you have available, production numbers, info on the thailand rumour, manufacturing dates etc. I bought one a couple of days ago and I am by no means experienced or knowledgable with shotguns let alone old ones, but its obscurity has piqued my interest, Its a beautiful gun I wish i could say I knew more about !
I have photos but I cant seem to figure out how to upload them here, a quick google images search will show you a few photos of the gun from auction websites but if you would like more detail feel free to contact me at the email provided below
I made an account on this website specifically for this post and im not sure how often i will check on the thread but if you have more info and would be willing to fill me in you can email me at [email protected]
Thanks everyone
