I jumped onto a shotgun yesterday because the price was right (I think); $395. I’ll know more when I get it in hand…. I’ll take better photographs too. There’s a small chip in the stock on the RH side and the butt plate is chipped on the toe. Finish appears to be better than 70%

I think you made the right move, I’ve certainly seen them in worse shape with asking prices higher than your purchase price. It seems modified and Improved cylinder choked ones bring a little more. I can’t tell what yours is. If I were selling yours I would ask 600 and let it go @ 550ish. I would look for a butt plate. 12 gauges are a dime a dozen, I was at Almans (? Spelling) in central Minnesota 2 years ago. They had at least a dozen model 12’s in 12 gauge. Not one was priced over $250. Ones with poly chokes were under $200. The small gauges hold good resale value. The 20’s sure make for a fast handling little grouse gun.
Best,
Erin
I picked up the shotgun this week and it appears to still be 2.5″, although I think a PO has fired 2.75″ shells in it as there is quite a bit of plastic buildup in the forcing cone. A fired 2.75″ shell is awfully difficult to eject. I’ve ordered some RST 2.5″ shells to treat it right…
