Up for auction a Model 12, 12 gauge 2 3/4″, 30″ barrel w/solid rib, FULL, Serial Number 2149XXX, “MFG: 1970’S.” I’ve already contacted the auction house and they claim the serial number is correct.
I have yet to find anything that would substantiate a serial number this high. Just from the looks, I would suspect that this gun (or parts, such as barrel and stocks were manufactured many years prior to the 70’s.
Help, please.
You have not provided us with anything of use (pictures, auction website link & name, etc.) that we can use to help you.

The serial number listed in the auction is not possible for a Model 12. Production of the Model 12 ended in May 1964… not in the 1970s. That is not a Y-series Model 12 (which were manufactured in the 1970s).
I would ask for better quality pictures, and a clear picture of the serial number and barrel markings.
