Model 12 Hard Case ?

Local gun shop took in a model 12 pigeon grade, 12 gauge made in 1924. It came in an old wooden hard case that has Cassell custom fit cases on a tag inside the case. Case measures 35″ x 8.5″ x 2.75″
Does anyone know if this is a period correct case? And could the shotgun have come in it? Sorry, I don’t have a picture.

Pictures would be most helpful to determine one way or the other. But will add from the start, I have my doubts towards it being the genuine article.
