I’d bet the General was a Trap shooter. I’ve heard Skeet was used as gunnery practice but with Uncle Sugar’s money you might as well build a Trap field if you’re going to build a Skeet field.

My sense is that the ‘scars’ on the left front edge of the receiver were the result of a handling mishap

Very nice. Odd damage tho, not the classic idiot marks we often see on M12’s. That looks more like it was dropped on concrete when disassembled. Sad but part of the history of a unique M12.

Yes, I thought the same thing on the receiver, but the action bars did have some “normal” looking wear too…probably don’t show in picture well.
