I have a Winchester 1897 long barrel made in 1945.

I would like to sell it and was thinking it would be more sellable (for cowboy shooters) if a Norinco barrel is useable on the Winchester.

Thoughts Gentlemen ??

I do not know the answer, but my gut instinct says No, a Chinese made Norinco barrel will not fit up to an original Model 1897.

I recently decided I wanted an 1897 trench gun clone. I thought about purchasing a Norinco clone, but I decided building my own clone from an original Winchester would be a fun project. I started searching Gunbroker for an affordable shotgun to start with, and ended up with 2 shotguns! I plan on having the chambers reamed and forcing cones lengthened on both guns so I can shoot modern ammo.

The first shotgun I bought is an all matching 1910 Winchester 1897 with a 30″ barrel in good used condition. The price was right so I bought it. After I received it, I couldn’t bring myself to chop it up. It’s not in perfect condition, but after realizing it has been untouched for 106 years I decided I needed something less original. This shotgun will now be a bird gun for me.
