I would want to know whether the barrel length might be identical to the magazine length of the 24″barrel version of the 64, in which case I’d suspect a shortened barrel.  Absent some special order evidence, I’d be wary of it.  I’m no expert but I would start at the muzzle and start measuring backwards. Is the ramp integral with the barrel? How far are the rear sight dovetail and the various rollmarks from the receiver?

My very limited understanding is the 64 was a compilation of the most popular features of the M94 rifle, and made to incorporate Col. Whelen’s suggested improvements to the M55, at a time when WRA was trying to reduce the number of options for cataloged guns. I have never seen a full magazine 64 cataloged and, before I accepted it as a special order feature, would want reliable factory documentation. I’d bet a Jackson it couldn’t pass the steel rule tests, myself.

Not that I am aware of, but it could be possible if somebody specifically special ordered it.

I am wondering how to tell if my model 64 deer rifle( carved forearm and butt) pistol grip with plate on the butt, 1405537. Is one of the rare ones?  It’s a 30wcf
