Would like to get the approx. value of a 1892 takedown in 38-40 with a 20 inch octagon
barrel. Bright bore, great wood and none of the screws have been messed with. Mfg.
about 1924. Has to be close to 90% condition. Has been in the same family since purchased
new.
Thanks

Photos and the SN would be very helpful. 1892 TD rifles with shorter than standard barrel (if original and hasnt been shortened like is seen often) are fairly rare. Only one TD I am aware of that is longer than standard.

Hello Robert,
Can you send me images of the rifle and I will post them here. [email protected] I follow hundreds of auctions every month so I should be able t ogive you a pretty good idea of what your rifle could be valued at. I am working on a research survey of the entire Model 1892/92 production and have seen only 15 20 inch barreled takedown rifles out of a total of 1285 takedown frame guns. That is right at 1.1% of the takedowns. Only one of the 15 are in 38 WCF caliber! Yours is definitely uncommon.

Hello Tony,
Any chance that you might have some images of the rifle? I have it listed in my survey as being located in AU but that is about it for details. Was the barrel 20 inches?
