I posted in the sight forum with no response. Does anyone have any information or knowledge about metric marked 44A sights? A friend has a 1892 td rifle in 44wcf with such a sight. The sight appears original to the gun. The gun has typical markings. Thanks.

That is an early WW I French Contract Model 1894 Carbine, most likely imported to Canada in the early 1960s.
