i contacted winchester and this forum is where they told me to ask around about this as they lost all of the records in a fire from this timeframe. thank you guys in advance! i would post pictures of the rifle but i have no idea how to go about doing that
First, you did not actually contact “Winchester”… you were actually speaking with the Winchester representative of the Browning Arms Company (BACO).
Second, the records for your Model 94AE were not lost in a fire… That is simply pure ignorant B.S. !
Third, your Model 94AE is not actually a “Winchester” product. Instead, it was manufactured by now defunct U.S. Repeating Arms Company (USRACo). The USRACo operated from May 1981 through March 2006, and they leased the trademarked “Winchester” name from the Olin Corporation. In the year 1992 they filed for bankruptcy and were purchased by Fabrique Nationale (FN Herstal). FN shutdown the New Haven factory in the Spring of 2006, and move their “Winchester” production to Columbia, SC. Later, they moved production of “Winchester” marked firearms to Miroku Japan, and Portugal. What they did with the USRACo production records is unknown. Per U.S. Federal law, a U.S. based firearms manufacturing company is required to surrender all records to the BATF if they shutdown business operations. Because FN Herstal is a Belgian based company, I do not know what they were required or did with the records. My guess is that they may have moved them overseas.
Last, WACA (for the most part) primarily deals with the pre-1964 production Winchesters that were manufactured by the Olin Corporation and the original Winchester Repeating Arms Company (WRACo).

thank you for that info so far, do you know anything else about this rifle? i cant seem to find any information at all about it anywhere being stainless
No, I do not. As I mentioned, my focus is on the history & production of the pre-1964 production Winchester firearms. In your shoes, I would seek & obtain as many of the USRACo catalogs from 1981 – 2005 as possible. I suspect that will be your best source of information.
