i am trying to get some 30-30 bullets for loading up a lever action Winchester for display purposes only, want to show the kids how the rifle is loaded and ejected
i don’t want the ones with the sides of the cartridge drilled, but one thT looks real, but will NOT fire
i would rather not do it myself, any ideas of who has them available
MidwayUSA and other suppliers have dummy cartridges. Just type in “dummy .30-30” in an internet search.
Or PM me, and I’ll load a batch for you–lead, jacketed, walnut media in place of powder, spent primer. There will be no way of having these be a danger. Unless, of course, you use them to poke someone in the eye! And these from me won’t cost you anything.

A-Zoom (and probably other companies) make a product called a proving round or snap cap for your Winchester. It’s a product that has the same dimensions as a factory 30WCF (30-30) round but does not look like a loaded round and cannot fire. Any reloader that loads for this round can make a dummy cartridge that looks and chambers like a factory cartridge but will not fire.
