I have four pre-64 model 94’s. Should I be happy with what I have or keep acquiring them? Rhetorical question.

Answer doesn’t matter. Once you acquire two or three they just start showing up. There’s nothing you can or should do other than enjoy them!

My son wants all I have! Don’t know I want him to have it all. Wish I could take it with me.

One way to not have to face the dilemma of disposing of a large collection is to not acquire it in the first place.  This is known as the, “no-fun” method and requires much more discipline than most of us have.

Should I buy more Winchesters? That question is not even in My realm of logical thinking. Can I buy more Winchesters, well that’s a whole different questionWink.

My wife suggested right before the last Rock Island Auction that it was time for me to stop acquiring. I disagreed and accuired….. Life has been uncomfortable since I picked up the rifle yesterday. LOL. I’m sure she’ll get over it…..or not.

Monomania personified.  Though the largest gun collection I’ve ever heard of is dwarfed by the fantastic collections of cars,  motorcycles, & general antiques, I mean multiple warehouses full of them, that are shown repeatedly on American Pickers.

Not really, most are unremarkable specimens. I saw him and this collection displayed at a show years ago. Ranger Jackson, OTOH, was a very interesting man and avid gun collector. He even played bit parts in a few of my favorite movies.

But still an interesting project. It wouldn’t be near as many specimens but doing one for every year of Model 1886 production would be fun to see.  I’m not surprised to hear the ’94 collector was an interesting fellow.
