Never heard of this before. Is it referring to bluing or case-coloring the internal parts of the receiver? Or something else?

It is my understanding is that it was additional polishing of the internals making a smoother action with more attention paid to hand fitting the parts.
But I could be wrong.

They took a little more time to polish the insides removing machining marks and would be finished the same as normal.
