On the homepage, if you scroll down to, “When was your Winchester made?” there is a photo of a M1886. It is worn as far as finish but seems a decent piece. The buttstock seems to fit fine. But the forearm – there is a significant gap from the rear of the forearm to the frame. Clearly not from sanding. It seems an interesting choice for a photo. Is this an example where the forearm tenon is turned around?
