I’ve got the gun in the attached photo coming to me in the mail soon and I’m hoping to get scope mounts ordered before it gets here. The gun is chambered in .30-06 was made in 1951 and has two holes at the rear of the receiver. Can anyone tell me the distance between the two holes? I see quite a few options for distance when it comes to mounts and I want to be sure I get the right ones. My hope is that someone here will have a gun with holes that are the same distance and they can tell me the numbers I need. Thanks in advance! (And no, before someone asks, the person that has the gun currently is not in a position to measure the holes for me.
If you’d like to make the job simple, just buy a Redfield Jr. 70A–it was the most popular mount for 70s in the 50s, & there are none better. Many available on ebay, cheap: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2380057.m570.l1313&_nkw=redfield+jr+model+70&_sacat=0
Might as pick one with screws included, & if possible rings.
