This is a very nice 1894 in my humble opinion, and I considered bidding. That is until the bidding seemingly went into the stratosphere. Am I wrong in thinking that this auction has gone beyond the value of the rifle? Still educating myself.

I’ve been keeping an eye on this one as well. It’s in the same configuration as mine, minus the special sights, letter, etc. Just looking to see what it goes for for comparative reasons.Don
Don, Beautiful 94.
I’ve purchased 2 model 94’s, 26″ rifles from GB in the last month or so and both of them were made in 1907 one a 30 WCF and the other a 32 WS. Both are as nice as the one on Austins Gun auction and the most I paid was $909 before tax and shipping. Austins Guns is very well known and has quality for the most part. It’s like they say ” All it takes is Two people wanting the same 94 and the price is not that much of a factor”. They should have purchased one of your rear sight elevators with the “Pat Feb.5. 1901” stamp.
.Bidding at $3,225 and climbing!!

I can’t understand what is driving this auction so high. A nice Model 94 but all it offers extra is 1/2 octagon barrel?Am I missing something
If you look at the Buyer feedback of trigger20x (one of the bidders) you’ll notice that they have bought over 30 grand worth of weapons in the last 30 days and over half were older Winchesters. It will be hard to out bid trigger20x at any price. Bidding against “Deep pockets” is out of my league.
In all seriousness, this seller’s stuff typically gets bid to the moon. He has a very strong following and it’s been my take that a good part of that following have deep pockets. I also think his buyer’s recognize how rare it is to find internet sellers who are highly knowledgeable, highly trustworthy and there is no danger of being ripped off. That’s worth a good bit. For those that can’t get to shows and hold a rifle in their hand before buying, buying from this seller is a very fine alternative. There are very few internet sellers I would say these positives about. And there’s no auction houses (that I know of) that I would make these comments about.

$3502. Wow
Agreed. I sold a nicer takedown in 32-40 last year for less money. It went to a good home.

So no one has caught on? Rick surely will. It’s a .32 Special of course !
Steve, it seems a bargain to me considering it’s a 32WS ?
I agree about the quality of his guns. Only a couple sellers I follow on GB and he’s one of them!
I also follow his auctions and would love to purchase one from him. I took forward to every Tuesday morning for his new listings from the night before.
