I am post-WW2 only guy so the older rifles are confusing.
Not mine but looking:
Here’s my 1876 .45-60. So, it’s got a 24″ barrel that is 54/64″ across the octagon barrel flats, and a single set trigger. I understand the barrels came in 22″, 26″, and 28″. The barrel seems to pretty substantial, more than what I think was standard. Also, I found a listing on Gun Broker a few years ago with a rifle just like this, made the same year (1881).
I have pictures but no host. Ya’ll got any opinions?
It is not possible to provide an accurate assessment or answer without the serial number and some clear pictures of the subject rifle.
As a WACA member you do not need a host website for your pictures… simply upload them directly.
