Hi. I’ve been poking around trying to find info on Model 94 30-30’s and came across this post/forum. I just received my father’s 30-30 from my brother who had been keeping it. Neither one of knows when Pop bought it, but we’re guessing in the ’60s.

The serial number is: 2712185

Thanks

Apologies, should have thought of this before. With that mfg date, does that classify as an ‘antique’?

No it does not.  Per Federal code (law), the date of manufacture must be no later than December 31st, 1898 to be classified as “Antique”.

January 1911.  Can you tell me which variation it is, and what the configuration is.  Based on my research survey, it is most likely a standard Sporting Rifle with a 26-inch octagon barrel and a full length magazine.

If I measured it right I got 22in round barrel. No saddle ring. That’s all I can tell you about it. I don’t know much about about Winchesters.

Can you send me pictures of the rifle (or a link to the Gunbroker auction listing) ?

Bert,

I still have my dad’s 94.

SN is 4168875. Would it also have been made in 1974?

No, not in 1974, instead, it was manufactured in the Spring of 1975.

I have a m94 in 30wcf. Serial # 1319515. I believe this to be approximately 1942. Would this be correct? Thank you in advance.

I’ve mentioned in another thread my recently acquired Model 94 that my father was given brand new in the fall of 1970.  The serial number is #3307721.  Is it possible to find out the date of manufacture?

(image got flipped, sorry)

Many thanks!

Roland,

The serial number you mention corresponds to roughly March, 1970.

Good day Bert,

Thanks for all your hard work for everyone.

I have acquired a 1894 Buffalo Bill Commemorative 30-30 from my father. He purchased new in 1970. The rifle has never been fired, and is in as new condition, with all original paperwork. Box is slightly damaged. I am a little confused at the serial number on my rifle. It is stamped WC38543. Is there a separate registry for the Buffalo Bill guns? As I am pretty sure it was not produced in the 1890’s!

Any help is appreciated.

Doug

Hello Doug,

The Buffalo Bill Model 1894 Commemoratives were all manufactured in the year 1968.  The total number manufactured was 122,169 (the largest single commemorative production run).
