Attached is a photo from an upcoming RI auction.  I noticed a couple of lever actions with similar magazine lengths to the one in the attached photo.  I am hoping to get some guidance on this.  Thanks.

Here’s the link below to the Rock Island Auction (Catalog 1045, Lot 265).

The two guns are grouped with poor pictures, so what exactly is the question?

RIA states they are refinished and because of picture quality it would be difficult to make any comments on originality or condition. T/R

I’d say No, the mag tube doesn’t look right.

It is not a “3/4” mag.  Based on its length, it would be more correct to call it a 2/3 magazine.  It does not look factory original, and the fact that RIA is trying to sell it with a second gun (as a pair) indicates that they also do not believe that it is factory original.

Yup, I think that’s the size of it.

A pair of reblued Winchesters with bad bores – and one with a magazine alteration.  I’d sure run.

When RIA groups guns it’s because the value of each is not much so they don’t want to waste any time listing and handling them separately. The pictures are poor for a reason. They know guns and how to sell them for a profit. No bargain. T/R
