Happy new year from a new member! Glad to be able to get feedback from experts on Winchesters. I inherited a model 1894 Carbine that apparently was made in 1929 – serial number 1073918. I got it appraised by the Blue Book of Gun Values. The appraiser estimated that the private sale value might be $775 and the trade-in value between $350 and $450. I’m guessing that the trade-in value refers to selling the gun to a gun shop.

I’d like to learn if these values seem reasonable. I will certainly appreciate any assistance/opinions you can give me. I tried to attach some images but was not able to do it.

Model 94 s/n 1073918 was manufactured in March 1931.

The Blue Book is a horribly inaccurate source of information in regard to pre-1964 production Winchesters.

You did not mention which cartridge/caliber your Model 94 is chambered for.

As a WACA Guest member, you can only post a URL to pictures you have uploaded to a host website.  It is not possible to estimate the value of your Model 94 Carbine without seeing clear detailed pictures of it.

The value range given is for a “shooter” grade gun with little condition or collector appeal, probably a 30-60% gun. If that doesn’t describe your gun post links to some good pics and maybe the experts here can give you a more accurate opinion.

There is no price guide that is up to date.  You need to research the current market to see what things are selling for.
