It could be a relation to Gustave Young who was a engraver of many makers of guns and had some sons but I don’t know a J. Young. His sons were Eugene and Oscar. Get a hold of Pauline at https://paulinemuerrle.com/ she might be able to ID it and for a fee she will write you a authentication letter.

I’m with Bob here, and imagine “J. Young” is possibly kin to other members of the Young family. Maybe more contemporary?
My understanding is Gustave Young had at least two sons Eugene & Oscar. Eugene’s son was Robert G. Young. I wonder if his middle initial G. is for “Gustave”?
Here’s Eugene’s & Robert’s business card.

P.S. I did find information where there was a British engraver named “John Young”, but he died too early to engrave a model 66.

Yeah, I couldn’t find any kin to Gustave that started with a J either. I’ll reach out to Pauline. Thanks!
