Looking to pick up my first 1873 rifle to go alongside my 1878 manufacture Colt SAA revolver. I’m hoping to get one in the 1870s (no later than early 1880s) manufacture date era just to fit the theme. I’ve been researching and learning a lot along the way.
Initially I wanted to get a carbine but I’m finding them hard to find. Do they usually command a substantial premium for scarcity?
I found this one on GI and to my naive eye it looks pretty good. Any red flags you guys notice that are more educated on these rifles?

Actually I did find one carbine that might work for what I’m looking for. Does anything look off on these pics?
Joe,
The round barrel rifle looks good just that it the metal has been cleaned.
The carbine has a better look to it. If your looking for a Winchester to hang with a Colt, a carbine is the way to go. It has good sights and has the rods.
