OfflineAccording to the coroners jury among the items in his possession when he was found dead propped up against a tree was an 1876 winchester 45/60 leaning against the tree. The serial number was listed as 21896. The story is that this rifle disappeared and appears to have been distroyed in the Great San Francisco earthquake. Has anyone done a search on this gun to see when and to whom it was shipped? Just wondering! Wormey

OfflineSo Johnny Ringo died in July 1882. I’m not sure what month #21896 was made in, but it must have been earlier in the year and Ringo must have not owned it for very long before “pushing up daisies”!
Ain’t no telling were that rifle is. It won’t show up until one day when it finally does and that is if it ever does.
Sincerely,
Maverick
