I believe I’ve seen it before but not sure if it was later in production. What I recall was earlier than 1933. But I’m not a huge 94 collector.

I have this model 1892 carbine.
Al – awesome 92 carbine – the Lyman receiver sight and no ring note in the ledger made my day. Anymore, a 92 carbine which is correct, high condition, special sights and letterable is a rarity. Look at the wood to metal fit on your gun – that is the way Winchester fit them! Then look at the wood to metal fit, condition and non-letterable configuration of the 94 in this thread – I personally do not like that 94 even if it is rare.

I’ve seen a few with sight delete, a pretty scarce option! tionesta1, very nice 92! I have a 93 Marlin with deleted sight
Does your Marlin have a Lyman No. 21?
Yes Steve, it has a Lyman 21, but Marlin ledgers don’t list sights
CJ – with the deleted sight seat, there’s no question in my mind that your Marlin was shipped with the No. 21 from the factory. I had one Marlin with a Lyman No. 21 – a M1895 .40-70 (super scarce in the M95) along with special order half magazine, shotgun butt. It had a nice amount of blue and a good bit of case color on the lever. It’s one I should have never let go

Steve, Marlin records are poor as they rarely mention sights, engraving, checking, butt plates. Yes! I would have kept that 95! Hard to find nice ones

CJ –
I’ve seen examples of this over and over. I think for the Winchester guys who only buy rifles where all features letter – they would have a tough time being a Marlin collector.
