Another question. Did the Classic Super Grade rifles come with the Super Grade engraved on the floor plate. Mine in .30-06 did not and the serial # is 2,470,xxx. It has Classic Super Grade on the right side of the barrel. The wood is a bit better than a standard rifle and it has the black forend tip with the inletted sling swivels. TIA
Have a great day.

Hi Jim, Your question; “yes”, to my knowledge & understanding, all “production”-SG featured the “Supergrade” annotated floorplate. That said, due to the inherent ‘mix ‘n match’ flexibility of such rifles, time, opportunity and ‘motive’, for such non-original configs to result!
My own ’93 SG in 48K SN, within early CRF SG reintro spectrum, fancy tiger stripe wood beaut in .338 Win, with such SG floorplate. That said, SG foorplates in eras of my experience, the only actual “Supergrade” visible and spelled-out nomenclature representation to my knowledge. Up in your more recent serial number range and particularly as such annotation “on barrel”, perhaps another ball game entirely!
This is not an ‘ironclad’ answer, but perhaps indicator and resulting hypothesis!
Best & Happy Holidays!
