I asked last week about a 53 TD in 32-20 that was for sale here. Everyone here advised me to get so I did. It’s a beauty. It has two holes drilled in the left side of the receiver, the only alteration to it. I suppose it was for some type of scope mount. I will post pics as soon as I can.
At the same time I bought a Rem model 25 carbine in 32-20. It retains 98% of its finish, but has four very neat holes drilled in the left side of the receiver.
Both guns function beautifully and when the weather clears up I will work up a load for the.
Thanks for all the advice I got from the forum on making the purchase.

Congrats and sensible thinking ( that is often what I do when confronted with a difficult decision)(tho my ex wife thinks this is not a good quality) I did recently pass on a nice cond and cheap , Rem 25 , 32-20 rifle that I should have bought. I have one in 25-20 that I really like. I am mainly a Winchester guy , but can sometimes be swayed, if its in a Win. cal
25-20, My current wife is of that same mind. So I did the sensible thing. I didn’t tell her. Both of these guns are so pretty that I just couldn’t pick one over the other. I knew I had to have the 53 to go with my 92 38-40. The little Rem. was so neat and trim I couldn’t not get it. I need a tang sight for the 53 and I will be ready to go.
Both of them are very slick actions and work almost by themselves. I can’t wait to see how they shoot for accuracy. If the 53 shoots like my 92 I will be very happy. I shot some handloads for my S&W in themjust to see them work, and will begin working on a load for the rifles this weekend.
