I’m sure the real number was removed in the "professional" refinishing process. I have a hunch that this listing is posted by the Silver Dollar Pawn Shop from The History Channel’s "Cajun Pawn Stars." Looks like "Big Daddy" should have called in an expert before buying this one.
If you follow mrvcs’s spot on pricing, that would mean that the nice box and signage included with the auction are priced reasonably at $7,150. 😯 I’m sure there’s some sort of markup in there somewhere.

That’s exactly who’s selling this rifle. I’ve been in their shop and talked to these guys, and they don’t know much about old guns. Sad to say, but they may actually think they have a winner here.
Discount their rifles, but don’t necessarily underestimate sellers. There’s a certain prevalent philosophy these days amongst many sellers. Buy so low you can’t possibly get hurt and punt with the most outlandish price to be conjured. I strongly suspect these sellers have a very minimal investment in this rifle and simply don’t wish to hear anything contrary to their most ‘optimistic guess’ assertions. Sadly, underlying the success of such a business model is P.T. Barnum’s classic observation.
Just my take.
