Leather on the bottom of lever loop

What type of leather do you use too put on the bottom loop of the levers? I have seen these on the old rifles and think it looks good. Are there any instructions out there to put it on.

Most serious collectors wouldn’t put leather on their loops as of fear that the leather would tarnish or effect the bluing or case coloring on them.

There are lots of SASS shooters that sell kits and commonly put leather on their repo guns. You might try as SASS forum for details on how to install.
