It was not that long ago that the WACA split from the WCA.
That is an incorrect statement. The WCA and WACA were never associated one another other than the few members that belonged to both organizations. The WCA folded (disbanded) several years ago, and the WACA picked up a few new members from that organization.
Bert
You are right the WCA and WACA were never associated with each other.Never said they were.
It was however mostly members from the WCA that left to form the WACA as they were not happy there . Later the WCA folded leaving only the WACA.
W.A.C.A. was organized in July 1977, incorporated February 21, 1978, in the State of Montana and has been NRA affiliated (#G8143) since 1978. I do not know when the WCA was officially formed, but I sincerely doubt that it was much earlier than WACA. George Madis was a key member in forming the WACA.

Not to seem rude but if we could get back on topic.
I would like some feedback about the suggestion I made about the forum format. About how "new topic posts" will disappear (no longer be highlighted) if I log-out prematurely or lose connection or don’t have time to read all the new posts.
This is something as a member I would like to see fixed or at the very least addressed.
Sincerely,
Maverick

I can not provide any feedback on your suggestion at this time. The information in this topic string will be presented to the web designers for possible inclusion in the upgrade. Patience is the key word.

Is there a time frame for when any or all of these changes will take place?Paul
Speaking of new post being highlited, why do some of the posts rock back and forth?
Paul,
The goal is to implement the changes as soon as possible, but it takes time to organize what we want to accomplish and then get it to the web designers. I suspect that it will take a minimum of 3-4 moths, but it could stretch out to 6-months or more.

Is there any feedback as of yet to my fore mentioned comments on the forum format.
Was also curious as to what other members of the forum and association have to think on the things in my previous observations (posts) on this topic.
Sincerely,
Maverick
P.S. I’m understanding if this is an on-going work in progress.

None that I am aware of at this time. Rob Kassab is working with the new (to us) web designers.

I can not answer that… can you be more specific?

I was referring to my past posts on this topic thread.
Maverick(ME)
I agree with Paul. There needs to be a better type of search engine used for the forum or it needs to be overhauled or something. Being able to search for a past topic is one of the most annoying things on this forum.
Another thing I would like to see changed that other like organizations use on there forums. Every time I log in and out of the forum, if there are any un-read new posts it is highlighted when I enter the forum, but sometimes I don’t or can’t read all the new posts. If I haven’t read all of the posts and log out the next time I log IN the new posts are no longer highlighted for me and thus I have a hard time remembering or figuring out what are new and old posts.
On http://www.antiquereloadingtools.com/ there forum only de-highlights a post once you have read it. And posts stayed high-lighted no matter how many times you log in and out. I like this feature on there forum and wish WACA’s had the same feature.
Main reason being, normally I read the forum regularly and this isn’t a problem for me. But when I go out of town for a trip, when I log back in I can’t read all the new posts or sometimes I will get "timed out" of the forum. I think it would just be nicer.
Was wondering what other members thoughts are are these types of issues. Not that I don’t appreciate your opinion Bert, but want to know what others think. Yes, No, maybe, kinda sorta, those type of responses. Good, Bad, Ugly. Any opinion at all?
Sincerely,
Maverick

Bert,
It would be nice in the new site if they had a button for reporting spam. I’ve seen this on other sites. You just hit the button and fill in a reason why you think its a inappropriate post and hit the submit button.

Bob,
I will bring it up with Rob Kassab. Our intent with the new registration software is to prevent all spammers from being able to register in the first place. I am asking for a number of improvements and tools in that facet of the website software, and if it works the way I would like, there will be no spam messages to report.
Thanks,
Bert
