$2875??? What is the X factor here?
My friend has basically the same 94 AE, S.R.C., 300xxx earlier at 6.2M, .357 Mag. with a 16" bbl. His has the crossbolt safety; not the tang safety. Absolutely mint. (better than the GB example)
We watched this auction all week and couldn’t believe the winning bid. What am I missing?
The free market is a wonderful place, When we have enough money we can purchase what ever we want at what ever price we would like to pay.
The gun is nice and he (or she) wanted it. I have paid way over what a gun was worth at the market prices because I wanted it and didnt want to mess with looking for it anymore.
As George Madis would of said, "He bought it a little early". By about 50 years.

I suspect "shill bidding" when these kid of things happen and usually the winning bidder is none the wiser.

Understandably so, but that still doesn’t mean it doesn’t go on.
