It amazes me what they could squeeze on a ledger line. The ledger page is a great addition to a great gun. T/R

Yes, a really cool gun.  I’ve seen a few but could never afford one.

That is a very difficult sight to find… happy to hear that you were successful in finding it! Cool

Be curious to know what an original sight like that would go for? Smile

Shrapnel-

So….in about six months we’ll be treated to pics of a nice muley or elk and an outstanding 1886?

She’s a beauty for sure!

You might want to find a gas cap before you get water in the fuel tank on your tractor. That sickle bare mower might need a light greasing as well.

Great set of pics!

Sincerely,

Maverick

Hello,

I found this topic  interesting, Because I am in discussion to buy a 1886 in caliber 50-100-450 in France.

The seller wants 2750€ for it, is it a correct price ?

I am a bit surprise by the length of the barrel 22 inch. The one that I saw is 25,25 inch, was it a serial length for this caliber ?

Sorry for the mistake in English, but I am French.

Regards

2750 Euros is about $2,974 US.  That is extremely cheap for this rifle if it is correct as manufactured.  Post the Serial # and pictures if possible.

Manufactured in 1897.  In the US a nice 50-100-450 will bring $50,000 to $75,000.   More if fancy checkered pistol grip.
