Hello, I just recently bought a Winchester 1885 in 32-40.

Would anyone know where I can obtain some 32-40 brass?

Thanks

You’d be lucky to find any kind of brass these days.   Midway carries it but like everything else, its out of stock and no backorder.

I do not have a .32-40 but think you can form it from .30-30 brass which is much more common.

I may have some older stuff. It probably should be annealed but that is easy to do. Will have a look through the pile.

This Bertram brass.  The price is about $67 per 20 plus shipping.  If you can’t find some anyplace else.

No joy. Only have a box of factory loads. Had a box of empties somewhere. I woulda mailed them to you for cost of postage if you wanted them. Let you know if they turn up.

You may want to try Starline Brass.

Last week I scanned available cases by Huntington Die Specialists.  At that time they listed .32-40 as available, IF I remember correctly.  Tim

Gunbroker has a few lots, depends on what you want to pay. Nothing is cheap these days. can be made from 30-30, 32spl, if you can find them too.

Starline hasn’t listed 32-40 in years, and when asked they say no!

You might want to look into reforming .30-30 brass.  It’s no big deal.  Back in the ’80s I had a beautiful Marlin in .32-40 and there was no brass or ammo available.  I read somewhere that brass could be reformed from .30-30 and did so successfully.  The cartridge was just a tiny bit short but the rifle shot them quite accurately.  My son was able to hit 12 gauge shotgun shell at 50 yards~!!
