Hi all. I am a long time Colt accumulator that knows next to nothing about winchesters and recently seen this 1894 at a LGS and had to pick it up. Made the trade for it with a never used CZ Handgun that I had $800.00 in. I posted this on the lever action Facebook group and received a lot of conflicting answers/opinions. It was suggested that I post it here for more specific/accurate information.
One of the members of the group graciously submitted a request for info on it and it came back as ordered with the lyman sight and set triggers, no mention of the swivels and pistol grip. The finish has also been called into question of original or redone.
The pictures are not the best and I will try to upload some better ones as I have time. TIA

Hello Robert,
The finish on that rifle is factory original. The only thing that I see one it that is not original are the sling mounts. It is a very fine & desirable Model 1894 Take Down semi-deluxe rifle. The serial number does identify it as a January 1902 production rifle. If you got for just $800, you flat-out stole it.

Thank you Bert. To be fair the CZ is probably worth in the 15-1600 range at this point since it is a discontinued model, but I personally paid for 8 for it a few years ago. It was a great shooting pistol but not used often and I wanted this one a bit more.

Bert, what value should I put on this for insurance purposes? I have no idea how to value it. Thank you for all your help
