An interesting 1892 25-20 my grandpa had in his collection. It’s a SRC 25-20, serial number 282961, I’ll add some more pictures when I get them. It’s been in the family for more than 100 years.

Sounds like a great story, without any proof though, that is all it is, a story.

How does she shoot?

Hello,

Based on the serial number the rifle was actually manufactured during late 1904.  It appears to be a standard saddle ring carbine.  Does it have a full length magazine?

My grandpa took him back to Mexico when he was done working for the family and they never heard from him again. We haven’t shot this rifle yet. It just stays in the safe for now

Absolutely great rifle and even more so because of the family history. We should all be so lucky to get an heirloom like that passed down. I got a timex pocket watch from my grandfather and my father’s M1 carbine from Vietnam. I treasure them both. Congrats on your rifle and would love to see more pics!
