Presents greetings, I would like to ask about an 1886 I have. It is in 45-90 wcf with a barrel that measures 11/16″ dia at the muzzle, 13/16″ dia at the forend cap, and 7/8″ at the breech. This a round barrel. Sorry cant sent pictures as I am officially not a member yet. Just looking for some thoughts about it.
Tom,
I took you on your word about your recent membership status and updated your profile on the WACA forums to “WACA Member”. You should now have the ability to upload and post pictures. Ordinarily, this would have been accomplished by our Executive Secretary (Trish Smith) when you initially signed up for a paid membership, but she is currently in the process of training a new person to assume the job of Executive Secretary and it may have fallen through the cracks.

Posted this yesterday. Here are some pictures, yes I know its kind of a relic but the barrel intrigued me. Believe it was called a “rapid taper barrel”. Hoping to have some input on it, and how common where these barrels.
