New to this forum so please let me know if I’m not posting in the correct forum. My father passed away a few years ago and I have been working through his collection trying to get an idea of what we should sell from his collection. I have roughly 50 pre 64 rifles that I am going to work on getting put on this forum over the next few months. Bob Reabe has been a huge help with the 1866 and 1873 models in the collection and he suggested I join this forum and start going through the rest. I have two 1876 models. The first rifle I need some help with is a 1876 50-95 express serial number 13829. I will include the Winchester record and pictures
Everything I'm posting is for sale

Hello Zach,
That is a decent condition Model 1876 in the premium caliber. The issues I see with it is the non-original rear sight (and missing elevator piece). The round barreled rifles typically do not sell for same $$$$ as those with an octagon barrel, and the shotgun butt is not as desirable as the standard crescent rifle butt. However, the vast majority of the 50-95 Express rifles were made with a round barrel, and with a shotgun but. Realistically, I believe that it would not be difficult to get at least $15K for it.

You may want to look at some dealer sites to see what they have listed. Leroy Merz always has some nice Winchesters for sale. You can compare your rifle with some of his in similar configuration, and condition. His prices are retail of course.
I call myself a collector as it sounds better than hoarder
