What would be a fair asking price 1876 in 45-60 with octagon barrel, bullet maker and Cody museum letter verifying factory configuration. The rifle came into my possession by the last descendent of the original owner. The rifle was passed down to the same family living on the same Montana ranch since it was purchased new in 1883. I’m looking to trade or sell
The fair asking price of your gun is greatly affected by it’s history. Collectors like guns with Montana history, if you can put together provenance and research the original owners value maybe added. Verbal statements without documented proof seldom adds value.
More and better pictures would help narrow the value of the gun, without history. $3,500-5,500.

Unfortunately the wife passed during the start of Covid and about a year later her husband passed. That price range is perfect and I’m happy to hear it. Thank you
