Saludos desde uno que se recibio del colegio secundario en Cordoba, hace mas de medio siglo.
My first impression is why would anyone fake this piece. If so, it would only be of interest to someone in Chile who knows of the named individual.
BTW: didn’t find him listed in Geneologia de la Familia Errazuriz.

After the last Julia’s auction I think it’s safe to say $75,000 isn’t going to happen. I see a engraved 66 with plain wood, can happen but rarely does. I see a barrel band a long way from the muzzle like only the real early 66’s, (1st models). I see a banged up dirty gun. I don’t see 75K. T/R

I’ll need to do some checking, but I think this gun is in one of George’s Winchester Books. Or at least one that looks similar to it.
It looks like a very interesting rifle to me.
Now all the pictures about the JU & CU being John & Conrad Ulrich’s Signature is a bunch of bogus, made-up non-sense, and take it with a grain of salt. Every signed John Ulrich and/or Conrad Ulrich was plainly marked. OR not marked at all.

Just checked my copy of the “Big Book” as well as Wilson’s and didn’t find this one in either of those 2 volumes.

Yeah I just got through checking mine too. Didn’t find it as of yet, but could of swore seeing this very gun somewhere published.
Although this 66 is highly unlikely to have been engraved by a factory engraver, it could have very well been “Period Engraved”. I imagine by or for one of the foreign dealers, like “Belloto & Tognonato” or “Wexel & DeGress” but which one, I am not sure.
Sincerely,
Maverick
