1 – 1892 saddle ring carbine, serial # 161284, .44 WCF, has replacement Winchester 92 barrel, no proof marks on receiver or barrel. I have the original barrel, also .44 WCF, but in very poor condition.

2 – 1892, serial # 612141, rebarreled ro .218 Bee using a Model 65  barrel 24″, receiver has WP proof mark, barrel has WP proof mark and Oval P mark.

Thanks,

Gus

Hello Gus,

Thanks for the info on your rifles.  Could I please get a few of images of SN 161284?  It was one of just over 2 dozen identical configuration SRC’s in 44 WCF that were delivered without the stock!!  It will be interesting to see what is on them now.   [email protected]

Michael,

Here are some photos as requested. Is there a story behind the shipped with no stock and was this indicated in the factory ledger? The carbine was from the Prescott, AZ area at least as far back as the 1930’s.

Gus,

The information came from my studies of the production ledgers.  To date I have not found any of the other 24 rifles in the same order all delivered with no stock.

Michael,

Thanks for the information. Any speculation on why someone would order the carbines with no stocks? Do you know the date the order was placed?

Thanks,

Gus
