Bert, in case you do not have Model 1890 .22 Long Rifle SN 812700, it is on a GB auction now at https://www.gunbroker.com/item/863406647james
We did have it… it sold in the September 2016 Rock Island auction.
Thanks,
Bert

HiI recently purchased a 1906 with the serial number 826875.
Your new (old) Model 06 was manufactured in late January, 1930.
Thank you for contributing to the survey!

Thank you Bert. Do you know if Winchester has any public records on this serial number? when i searched the website it does not recognize the sn. Thanks in advance!
“Winchester” no longer exists. They sold the New Haven factory in late 1980, and donated all of their surviving records and museum items to the Buffalo Bill Historical Museum in Cody WY in the late 1970s. The website you accessed is operated by the Browning Arms Company. The only surviving records for the late production Model 06 rifles is the Polishing Room serial number application records. The date I gave you came from those records.

Hi Bert, I tried to get a factory letter from the Buffalo Bill Museum and I was informed they were unable to provide any information because the polishing room serial number records stopped in 1926, and thus my serial number was not even listed on the polishing room records. Do you have any Idea where i could get a copy of the information you have on paper? Cheers, Adam
Adam,
From the start of production the Model 1890 and Model 1906 were serialized separately, but at the end of the day on March 10th, 1926 that practice ended. The Model 90 serial numbers had reached 713199, and the Model 06 serial numbers had reached 685999. On March 11th, 1926 Winchester merged the serialization of both models. They eliminated the “A” marking on the Model 90 receiver, and the “B” marking on the Model 06 receiver. Co-serialization began at number 713200 (in the former Model 90 serial range). Accordingly, your Model 06 rifle is in the Model 90 serial number records, and the CFM has those records.

Hello Bert:
I have a 1906 with serial number 785663. It came from a Morphy auction last summer so someone may have already reported it. Curious as to the date of manufacture. Also I picked up a previously unreported 94/95 hybrid a couple weeks ago which I will be sending you photos of. Keep up the good work.

Hi bert, i have a couple of M62’s early ones, a #1093 and a #6533 I believe both made in the first month of production, can you narrow down made dates any closer. terry just seen you wanted after a certain seriel number, maybe you can help with the dates though.
Terry,
Production began in March 1932, and your rifles were manufactured;
#1093 – April 1932
#6533 – June 1932
