Any survey for 1890 before said serial number?
No, at least not at this time. The survey that is in progress was started to determine how many co-mingled Model 90, 06, 62, and 62A rifles were made between March 11th, 1926 and the end of production. Through March 10th, 1926, Winchester maintained separate receiver (serial number) production for the Model 90 and Model 06. At the end of the that day, the “A” (Model 90) and the “B” (Model 06) marked receivers were no longer marked as such, and the serial numbers for each model were co-mingled. The survey will hopefully determine a relatively accurate final production number for each model.

Bert or 3Dub,Have you documented any 22 long round barrel clean up rifles?? I’ve seen a few short, LR and WRF but have never seen a long. Just wondering if they are out there……..
Erin
Erin,
The answer is No, we have not. Further, of the (76) clean-up rifles we have documented thus far, just one of them is chambered for the 22 Long cartridge. I suspect that you will have to search long & hard to find one.

Bill,
The survey does not include standard production Model 62/62A rifles, which is what that rifle is.

Thanks for the info Bert,
I can probably check the long round barrel off the list of things to hunt. The LR and WRF will be enough of an adventure…….
Best,

Thanks… it is actually 853598, and it was a 23-inch round Model 62 barrel (marked Model 90) on it.

Hi all,I have Serial No. 850567 ( stamped on tang and receiver with no letters) Model 62 with 6inch 10 groove forend. Would love to know year of manufacture if possible please.
Hello.
Your Model 62 was manufactured in October, 1938. Is it a 22 Short (only), or a Short. Long & Long Rifle?
