32 Win. Special, kinda left that out.

No problem, and thanks for the update information.  Your Model 55 rifle brings the survey total to 1,574 (7.65% of the total production)

The estimated production total for the Model 55 rifles chambered for the 32 W.S. cartridge currently stands at 4,890.

Ed,

It is a new entry in the research survey.  Winchester apparently assembled a good-sized batch of Model 55 rifles on June 29th, 1929.  Your rifle is (1) of (6) identical rifles that I have documented that are in a very tight serial range that were manufactured on that date.

If you can, please confirm that it has a “29” barrel date and send me a picture of it.

Thanks,

Bert

Bert,

It is marked “29,” the markings are MNC or MNO 30WCF 29.

Ed

The hammer is serrated, cross hatched.

The hammer should be knurled and look like this;

This is a serrated hammer;

The hammer is knurled, what I called cross hatched.

The bbl is stamped Nickel Steel.

The rifle is a shooter grade.
