Was at an antique store in Chouteau, OK and one of the booths had three of these in there, they are brand new, but I snatched one up anyway. It is by C.H. Key and C.H. Key Publishing Co. out of Sublette, Kansas. Looking forward to looking it over.
I dislike being a “Hater”, but please take everything you read in his book with a grain of salt… C.H. Key was the most prolific “scam artist” out there as it applies to the Model 61. He (and his cohorts) were famous for building fake (rare configuration) rifles and then selling them to unknowing buyers.

Oh my! Well, that is good to know. Very interesting indeed. I do thank you for sharing. You know – I think I will just set this one on the shelf and not read it. Thought about selling it on ebay but then decided I didn’t to put a scammer out to someone else. Maybe it’ll make for good decoration.

Bert-
I didn’t know who was behind those fake 61’s but from what I’ve heard they did very good work. Safe to say Key and/or his associates were very knowledgeable about the 61. Unfortunately big money attracts dishonest folks or corrupts others. I always liked Wilson’s books and appearances on documentaries but his stock certainly fell when his schemes were made known. Sad situation. Just another reason I won’t play in that ballpark.
