I was lucky enough to win this 3 pc fly rod. It has a canvas case and aluminum tube. The tube isn’t stamped but the rod and case is. I’m on the lookout for a Winchester fly reel to complete this now.
Fly Rid? Is that one of them new fangled contraptions to get rid of fly’s? Just kidding. That is a very nice set, and looks to be in excellent condition.

If you can provide a good photo of the reel seat & grip, I might be able to figure out which model it is from drawings in the 1929 cat. There were 9 different bamboo rods & many more steel ones.
I cant put any more pics in for some reason? Could you send an email addy so I can send them to you ?
Thanks !

Your fly rod should have a model number on it. Model number will depend on which reels will work best with that rod. All reels may fit the reel seat, but reels and rods should match each other. Each rod will have specific reels that work best with that rod.
I looked it completely over and can’t find a number. Just made in USA ?

If you mean that the reel should be proportional to the line size, that’s correct–a heavier rod using a heavier line requires a larger reel spool. Also a heavier rod is better balanced with a larger reel. But that’s about as specific as it gets. I live in a house crammed with antique rods, reels, & all the appurtenances that go with them.

I sent an email to you Clarence. Thanks !
Got it. Thought the reel-seat might narrow down the possibilities, but turns out all of them use the same locking seat; in fact, there’s a separate page devoted to extolling the merits of this seat, claimed to be specially designed for their rods only. The line drawings don’t provide enough detail for further identification. All rods had a model no., but if that’s not marked on the rod or bag, it’s no help. Higher priced rods had a special tip guide consisting of a rotating, hardened, steel ring held within the frame of the guide–the famous “Roto-Ring”!

Thank you for trying Clarence ! If you come across a Winchester reel in your travels that will fit this please keep me in mind !Thanks!
My “travels” are now restricted to the 10 m. or so I drive to reach the nearest grocery store. Should be easy to find them on ebay, but none listed at the present time; here’s a “sold” one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/334463978519?hash=item4ddf9b4c17:g:GWwAAOSw2NZim4
I did find this interesting COPY of a beautiful Winchester poster: https://www.ebay.com/itm/144602558914?hash=item21aafbf1c2:g:-dsAAOSwLh9a2ecj
Since an original would bring several hundred at least, I could live with a repro. I’d love to see that 5-reel film, about 1 hr total.

I believe this is the one You need , model #1336. This rod is in the canvas case and don’t look like it’s ever been used
Is that one yours, Henry? Only 4 fly reels in the catalog I have, & this ventilated model was the best of them. Made by the Hendrix Reel Co.
