Hello,

My wife bought me the buckle on the right at the Cody show this past summer; I found the one on the left at an antique shop in Toronto.

Would you have any information on them, do you know if they were originally commissioned by Winchester ?

I assume both are original, from different batches.

Thank you.

Do not have a whole lot of information.Have had two of these buckles. One I worn for years,  until the part where the buckle clip fits into the buckle  broke. The other I did not wear as much and still have it The two buckles I owned are like the one on the right. No Jim Watson or Canada Legendary Buckles in the middle of the rear of the buckle.

Not sure when I bought them.Back in the 70’s I believe ,at a hunting goods store close to home. The owner of that store and the store itself are both gone now.So I cannot ask him any thing about where he got the buckles.

Just to add.I believe the non Canada Legendary Buckles were authorized by Winchester Canada. The ones marked Canada Legendary Buckles, I do not know.Could be or could just be a copy of the earlier authorized buckle.

Thank you for the reply 28 gauge !!

I found a picture of the buckle on page 267 of “Winchester – An American Legend” by R.L. Wilson; but it doesn’t mean it was necessarily commissioned by Winchester.

28 Gauge. I have a few of those belt buckles as well. Also have a few of the Winchester Canada patches. I just picked the patches up a couple weeks ago. First time I’d seen them with Canada on them other than the small round ones that I have and see often at shows

Seems to me I have a hat around here some where, with the round Winchester Canada patch on it.
