For several years, I’ve bought all my ammo from Targetsports, which provides top-quality service & usually the best prices. But for the last two yrs, they’ve been out of my favorite brand, Aguila SV. So I made the mistake of searching for a dealer who had it in stock, & had the bad luck to find it at Buds Gun Shop, which claims to be “America’s #1 Online Retailer of Guns & Ammo.” Price was 8 cents/rd, as low as I’ve seen it, but twice the cost before the National Panic commenced. I submitted two email requests to ask if there was a case price discount, but neither was answered, & no phone no. was listed on their website. Those two facts should have warned me against dealing with them, but I ordered a case (5000) anyway. How was it shipped? 100 individual 50 rd boxes dumped (not packed or stacked) into an oversize box loosely covered with a small piece of bubble wrap. Amazingly, no ammo spilled out of the boxes, the result of Aguila’s well-constructed boxes, not Bud’s packaging. Since then, I started a thread on the subject on RFC, & several other Buds customers reported similar negligence, suggesting my experience was not an isolated incident.
sounds like a first and last experience with them. I will agree with you on target sports too, always darn good prices, fast shipping and well packed. I have found it worth while to join their ‘club’ for the annual price of, whatever it is- I can’t recall right now,to see if it worked out to get the free shipping. I am surprised that they always have a lower price for members, even if it’s only a couple bucks, but with the free shipping, I find myself ordering more frequently. I guess they have a good marketing department cause it worked on me

Bill, I agree wholeheartedly, but over the last yr they seem to be having very unusual stocking problems. I mean, if Buds is finding the Aguila, I don’t know why they can’t also. I too bought one of the Prime memberships ($100) but have to say after 7 months, it hasn’t paid for itself & doesn’t look like it will, because they don’t have the ammo I need. Since I always buy in case lots, I’d be getting the free shipping anyway.
