I added this to my pictures. I just won a real nice M1900 on Wards Auction and am waiting for delivery. Nice ones are very scarce and I paid a lot for this rifle, but the book values on these are way high. Pics when I get it.    Thanks, Big LarryM1900.jpgImage Enlarger

Never realized it was Browning design, and think this is the simplest sear/trigger arrangement I’ve ever seen on a bolt action.  Never had one of these in my hands, but from the drawing I gather it has to be cocked by pulling back on the striker; right?

Yep, it was a Browning design and the action basis for the subsequent models 1902, 1904, 58, 59, 60, 67 and 68.  A simple, long-lasting design, typical of Browning.

Yes, it is cocked by pulling back on the striker.

Here is the full, printable patent (with the patent number as referenced by George Watrous of Winchester) http://pdfpiw.uspto.gov/.piw?PageNum=0&docid=00632094&IDKey=6CE4BD37EFFC&HomeUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fpatft.uspto.gov%2Fnetahtml%2FPTO%2Fpatimg.htm

Vince, thanks for stirring the pot with the image, it has been a little slow here in the backwater Winchester .22 rim fire section.

Sometimes the USPTO site can be a little snarky on viewing and printing the .tiff files so I have included the .jpgs of all 7 pages here for easier reference.

Best Regards,

Not something I’d like, but for a boy’s rifle, and a starter one at that, an excellent idea.

Does anyone have this image in a high resolution for me to print a custom hanging (for texelprintstore.com shipping)? Thank you!

https://patents.google.com/patent/US632094?oq=632%2c094

Here is a link for where you can download a high quality .PDF of the patent. All the old patents are considered public domain and being easily found by a google search. It helps to know the patent number.

FYI. There is a guy on Ebay that is printing a lot of these old patent on older looking and/or aged paper.

So I wouldn’t go paying a bunch of money for one of these patent image drawings. These ebay guys often remove the patent number. I don’t have a clue why they would do that sometimes, as it wouldn’t really matter.
