A few years back I decided that I would try to jump on the Winchester rim fire bandwagon, and started casually looking for high condition examples of each model. I’d pick up one here or there and eventually started to accumulate a pretty good pile. The 75 was kind of elusive though. I happened by JWA’s table at the Cody show and mentioned that I was looking for a nice one. He quickly pointed me over to a table manned by Seewin, and after a few minutes I was the proud owner of a beautiful Sporter. After that, they seemed to find me and were popping up regularly so I now have a decent group (maybe too many 😂). I hope Jeff will take a look and point out anything that may stand out to him. I have noticed that since his book was released, prices have come up a bit so I guess it’s increasing collector’s interest.

OfflineVery nice! I have two shooters (Sporting and Target) and an original Target. I prefer the classic lines of the 75 Sporting over other similar rimfires and my Target models probably get to the range more than any other 22 in my collection. I’ll see if I can find some pics but you’re setting the bar pretty high!

OnlineGeorge, your rifles look great! I love your discerning taste and don’t see any obvious red flags in the bunch.
You need to find a pair of pre-war 75 sporting rifles to match your post-war set. The pre-war sporting rifles have finer checkering and a bit nicer finish, you will like them!
Thanks for posting the eye candy and promoting the previous book! The book on the 56 and 57 should be done in the next few months so you will have a whole other avenue to collect.

I also bought my first one from JWA and then they started just “finding me” too….I think they’re multiplying in my safe, going to have to get them spayed or neutered.
Pics????????
…of the spaying or neutering? Perhaps I can just remove their magazines… 🙂

George,
A very nice showing here that we all can enjoy. Jeff brings up a good point, as no Red Flags, and a great selection of taste, as a couple Pre-War examples gives you something else to shoot or or focus on. It seems to never end, this collecting thing we all enjoy!
Thanks for sharing!

OfflineOK OK, Al has inspired me to take some early morning photos, which doesn’t happen very often! It helps it was in the very front of the safe… 😉 The right side of the butt is not a scratch, probably a cat hair.
My pictures get all rotated and stuff so here’s the link to a few…
