Remington added this marking to .22s produced between 1911 and DuPont’s discontinuance of this powder in the ’30s, which always led me to believe that Rem./Peters had obtained an exclusive contract with DuPont. But I just noticed in Williamson’s history that WRA had also purchased rights to use of the powder & TM at about the same time as Rem./Peters. But I’ve never seen a Win. .22 marked the same way as these Remingtons.
I believe Winchester wanted the rights to primarily market the “Lesmoke” name on ammunition, not rifles.
When they eventually did market ammunition (or powder) on their rifles (Model 63) it was specifically for Winchester ammunition.
