Definitely, I’ll end up with it one way or another. Just waiting patiently until he seems fully comfortable in the belief that it’s definitely not original and my offer is fair.

Beautful engraved 61 whether original or not. Looks like it has a checkered stock. Could the checkering on the stock be original?

The buttstock has been non-factory checkered. No question at all about that. Which adds to my initial belief that the engraving is aftermarket.
The forearm is original and correct.
